A bus driver is a person who, under the supervision of a manager, supervisor, dispatcher or trainer, operates a van or bus over designated routes transporting pupils, or clients to and from designated locations. In addition, a bus driver may transport clients on private charter trips. Bus drivers may work with loud, disruptive or assultive passengers. Drivers may also work with severely handicapped individuals.

Demonstrated proficiency in the operation of assigned vehicles including extra equipment such as wheelchair lifts, and air brakes under all road and weather conditions.
Preferred Employment Standards:
High School Diploma or the equivalent
Must be at least 21 years of age with 3 years driving experience
A first aid endorsement on the special driver’s certificate or a certificate of training in first aid. A certificate of training for CPR.
